The elephant in the brain
I started to listen to The Elephant in the Brain, a book by Kevin Simler and Robin Hanson. It is about how our behavior is to a large extent driven by being a social animal. This means we mostly act according to norms that we have learned. One very important idea is: behavior comes first, rationalization later. That is, when asked why we did something, we can come up with good reasons, but they are not necessarily the true reasons.
